Taranis Program File

This is the backup file I use for all my builds.  Save yourself the hassle of trying to program your Taranis.  Load the file and go fly!

  • FrSky Telemetry* - Low RSSI alarm set at 65dbi, 2 stage low battery (14.5v audible warning, 14v haptic warning).  SF up will call out your current RSSI.  SH up will call out the current Voltage.
  • Flight Timers - Actual flight time, 2 minute race timer with 10 second countdown.  Both timers will start when throttle goes above zero.  Switch SC up resets all timers
  • AUX1 SD up Switch is the arm switch
  • AUX2 SE can be used for flight modes
  • AUX3 SA open for assignment

*Please note, to have the telemetry function a compatible RX must be used such as the XSR, X4R-SB or D4R-ii.

To use the backup file, after the purchase is completed there will be a download link in the email.  Download that file and drag the "Taranis-Backup.bin" file in to the Models folder in the SD card in the Taranis.  Put the card back into the Taranis.  Press Menu and scroll down to an empty model slot.  Press and hold the enter button and select restore model.  Select the "Taranis-Backup" file.

For someone fairly new to the Taranis this is a great way to learn about it. For others it is a quick and easy basic load. In effect you are having an expert set up your quad with proven well thought out settings and saving it for your other quads to come. If you are a whiz at this stuff and already have your preferences set than it just saves time or gives you something you may already have. But thanks Mike for providing us your file.
For some it may be helpful to note that there are v2.1.8.bin and v2.2.0.bin files depending on your transmitter software and also they are zip files but you don't or can't unzip them. I was confused by this. But as instructed you have to drag and drop just the .bin file zip you want onto the SD Card. If you drag and drop the entire folder onto the card the Taranis will not see it. Elementary stuff for anyone but me!
